HENDERSON, Nev. - July 14, 2016 - PRLog -- July 1 - Travel alert has been issued for traveling to Laos due to reports of violence. U.S. citizens are urged to take extreme precautions if they live in or are traveling to Laos and remain on alert.

July 1 - A travel warning is in effect for Mali due to the threat of attacks by violent extremist groups known to target foreigners and U.S. citizens. Groups like Al-Qaeda and Al-Mourabitoun have claimed responsibility for attacks and kidnappings in the region. The Federal Aviation Administration has further issued a warning for flights traveling below 26,000 feet over the country.

July 6 - The threat to U.S. citizens traveling to Iraq remains high and the U.S. Department of State is warning against all travel to the region. The potential for kidnapping and violent crime is high and the ability for Embassy assistance is limited. Attacks have been frequent and include road mines, mortars, rockets and shootings. Attacks are most likely to occur in public places and places where people gather in large numbers.

July 7 - The U.S. Department of State travel warning remains in effect for Venezuela which is considered one of the most dangerous regions for travel due to its high crime rates. Venezuelan threats for personal safety include kidnapping, carjacking, armed robbery and murder. Illegal armed groups and drug trafficking are common in the region and pose significant risk to travelers.

July 10 - Recent extremist events in Bangladesh have caused the U.S. government to authorize voluntary departures for the family members of Embassy personnel until the risk of danger can be assessed. Until further notice, the U.S. Department of State recommends against traveling to Bangladesh.

July 10 - A warning against travel to the Republic of South Sudan has been issued due to instability between the new government and opposing forces. The threat for violent crimes including carjacking, shootings, robberies and murder is high. U.S. government assistance is extremely limited. The Department of State has ordered the departure of all non-emergency personnel from the Embassy at this time.

July 13 - A travel alert to Kenya has been issued due to the potential risk associated with large scale public events. During the month of July, the 14th session of the UN Conference on Trade is scheduled to take place. Travelers should be alert and expect to see road closures, possible protests and demonstrations that could lead to violence.
