Community HigherEd Awards Brighter Future Presidential Scholarship

TULSA, Okla. - May 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Community HigherEd is pleased to announce the first recipient of the Brighter Future Presidential Scholarship, which covers up to 50 percent of tuition, to Kendra Taylor, Veterinary Assisting student at Community Care College.

"I'm ecstatic! When I received the phone call telling me I got it, I started crying," said Taylor. "This is such a blessing and an honor for me! The first person I told was my daughter and the look of admiration on her face was all I needed."

Applicants for the Brighter Future Presidential Scholarship were required to submit two letters of recommendation, an essay and to create a Facebook album demonstrating how their future will be brighter because of their education.

"The Brighter Future Presidential Scholarship reinforces our College's belief that career education has the power to transform the lives of individuals, families, and communities," said Dr. Kevin Kirk, President. "We're honored to provide this scholarship to Kendra Taylor, who has demonstrated determination to use her time in our Veterinary Assistant program to launch herself into a new career, fulfill her passion for animal care, and provide a new life for her children."
