"Reggae to the Rescue" brings US reggae band Rebelution to Costa Rica for wildlife benefit concert  

DOMINICAL DE OSA, Costa Rica - March 25, 2016 - PRLog -- Rebelution will be performing for their first time in Costa Rica. "Reggae to the Rescue" will be hosted by the surf mecca of Dominical, on July 16th, 2016, and will take place at Patrons. The organizers are donating 100% of the funds raised to benefit Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, a non profit organization, and help them expand their facilities and hire needed staff. Costa Rican reggae band Ojo de Buey will also be performing at the debut annual event. Tickets will be available via Eventbrite on April 5th for $25 USD ($30 USD at the door). There will be a limited number of VIP tickets available as well. Patrons' capacity accommodates 3000 concert goers so the benefit concert stands to donate nearly $90,000 to the Sanctuary.

Reggae to the Rescue will be in the middle of Rebelution's Falling into Place tour, which kicks off at historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado on June 6th. The trek takes the band across the US for twenty-six dates, finally ending in Missoula, Montana on August 20th.

Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary first opened its doors to distressed animals in December 2014. They ascribe to the philosophy "Rescue Rehab and Release" and have re-introduced over 100 monkeys, toucans, sloths and other exotic animals back into nature. Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary currently has habitats for over one hunderd animals; they are cared for by both professional staff and a host of volunteers. The type and number of animals hosted at the sanctuary is constantly fluctuating, so visitors will discover different exotic animals from month to month. The demand for space is at an all time high and the Sanctuary needs to expand in order to fill the demand.

Reggae to the Rescue's mission is to harness the good vibes of Reggae music to raise money for Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary. The idea was born during a tour of the sanctuary given to Chuck Chastain (Best Time Ever Presents). The tour was hosted by Tom Rademacher and Ivette Ocampo (executive directors of Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary).

The benefit concert will take place at Patrons Bar and Grill which is located in downtown Dominical near the shores of the Pacific, and some of the most consistent waves in Central America. Patrons recently expanded the venue to include a 3000 capacity entertainment area, one that has already seen Latin American reggae bands such as Cultura Profectica pack the nightspot. The small beach town has seen a boom in live music over the past few years, with the success of Envision Festival and the construction of Patrons' 3000 capacity venue.

Reggae to the Rescue's mission is to harness the power and feel-good vibes of Reggae music to raise funds for injured and displaced wildlife in Costa Rica.
