The Patty Wood Girls Leadership Academy Spring Program: April 9-May 14
The Patty Wood Girls Leadership Academy (PWGLA), established in 2014 to honor Patty Wood, recognizes her commitment to girls, golf and leadership. Designed for girls ages 12-14, the Academy gives girls the chance to work together with their peers to discover what it means to be a leader. They dare each other to set leadership goals and experiment with new skills. The girls present their ideas about what it means to stand up and speak up as leaders and participate on a Q&A leadership panel.

Through top-notch instructors and guest speakers, PWGLA brings together The First Tee's Life Skills Experiences with special leadership-focused topics designed to help girls explore the mind / body / spirit (MBS) connection. Upon completing the program, girls have the opportunity to put their leadership skills into action as PWGLA mentors, also gaining project management experience when they help plan and implement community outreach and learning enrichment events and activities.

The registration fee is $100. Limited scholarships are available. The program, held at Washington Golf, runs from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on:  April 9, April 16, April 23, April 30, May 7 and May 14 (parents are invited and encouraged to attend the final session).
