Follow on Google News | Top modeling agent to be among featured authors at area expoBy: The Young Agency Among those invited to discuss literacy and important social issues will be Pamela Young, founder of the Young Agency, one of the Southwest’s largest model and talent agencies. Young’s new book, How to Become a Kid Model, is an essential primer for aspiring kid models and their parents. Young’s agency represents a diverse slate of models and actors of all ethnicities, ages, sizes, and looks for local and national print, TV, runway, film, video, and voiceover projects. A 20-plus year veteran of the industry, she wrote How to Become a Kid Model after seeing kid models and their parents who aspire to succeed in the modeling industry. “I want to help kid models do their best,” Young said. “There are so many actions — large and small — that parents and models need to take, to help give themselves their best shots at succeeding. "Much of this information is inferred by those already in the industry, but, those kids attempting to break into the business can learn from my book that they can compete in the industry and live their dream as well. "I wrote this book to help all children, talented or otherwise, begin to have breakthroughs in their own life about who they are and who they intend to be in the world — and get them thinking about the possibilities that even they themselves could be a kid model. Although some children will break into this tough industry and hope to succeed, others will be assured they will succeed due to these tips & secrets shared in my book." Young will discuss her book, share secrets to succeeding as a model, and be on hand to answer questions at the expo. The Black American Authors Expo will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at 300 West Camelback Road. End
