America's Blues Dubbed Official Documentary of the 2016 IBC's

Jan. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- TrAGiK Entertainment's new documentary, America’s Blues, has been been invited to be screened at the 2016 International Blues Challenge as a special guest of the Blues Foundation.

The screening will take place at 1pm on January 28th at the famed Blues City Cafe on historic Beale Street in Memphis. This will be a free, official IBC event, co-sponsored by Indie-Memphis, and followed by a Q & A session with the filmmakers, Patrick Branson and Aaron Pritchard. Branson, the film's director, said, “It's such a huge honor to be a part of one of the biggest Blues events in the world. We've also been invited to the Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles this February. It's amazing to see our little independent film at such prestigious cultural events.”

The International Blues Challenge, in it's 32nd year, is an annual event that brings Blues musicians and fans from all around the world together for one purpose. The love of Blues Music. “When I watched the film, I knew there was something special there,” says Barbara Newman, newly appointed president and CEO of The Blues Foundation.

America's Blues is a long overdue, award winning film that tells a story of the profound impact that Blues music has had on our society, popular culture, and the entertainment industry. "It's impacted so many art forms on so many levels and in so many capacities, and yet so few people know the depth of its influence" said Pritchard. There have been many movies in which Blues music is the subject matter, and when asked what separates America's Blues from other pieces Branson said, "We wanted to take a different angle on the Blues so we mixed history with popular culture and came up with a story that is both unique and entertaining, something different".
