HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. - Oct. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The crimes were discovered when Beekman bookkeeper Bill Brady noticed major financial discrepancies in the town's records submitted during Knapp's tenure as comptroller. It was later found that Knapp used the money to pay personal expenses tied to an American Express account. Knapp is currently serving between three and nine years in prison.

"Fortunately, we probably eluded a downgrade by Moody’s by being able to collect on the claim so quickly," he said. He also confirmed with the press that rating agencies like Moody's would maintain the town's healthy rating.
