Reputed Return of the 2016 Ford Bronco SVT Raptor

Phony news story for Bronco fans awaiting its return after 20 years with more powerful engines, a lightweight aluminum body, and better fuel efficiency.

SALEM, Ore. - July 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Bronco was a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in production from 1966 to 1996. It remains to this day one of the sturdiest full-size SUVs ever. Well-preserved examples would do quite well in off-road roles, though it's no longer truly competitive with later SUVs on the road.

The Bronco built up an extensive and loyal customer base over the years.  Bronco fans were excited when Ford planned to bring it back as the Bronco Special Vehicle Team (SVT) Raptor for the 2016 Ford market year.

Motor vehicle reviews of the pending new Bronco were lavishly favorable. The SVT Raptor, one website said, is for off-road fun and adventure. Furthermore, Ford knows that trucks and SUVs are subject to abuse, so the automaker decided to make the Bronco solid and powerful.   There would also be some very fast Broncos with very good fuel efficiency ratings.

Another reviewer said the arrival of the 2016 Ford SUV would be timely, complaining that not many true four-wheel drive SUVs remained on the market of mostly unibody customers other than the Jeep Wrangler and the Toyota 4Runner.

Historical Background/Engines

The full-size Bronco disappeared after the 1996 model year. If made, the 2016 version would be a genuine off-road rig like its predecessors of long ago. Moreover, there would be three engine alternatives: an eight-cylinder, 5,000–cubic centimeter (cc), 420–horsepower (hp) Coyote, a six-cylinder, 4,900-cc, 330-hp Powerstroke diesel.

Exterior and Interior Design

The new Bronco is composed of aluminum body panels with hugely improved fuel efficiency. This four-wheel drive SUV is based on the Ford Atlas model with a larger, extended cabin.

A big tailgate that includes a chrome bumper, two exhaust outlets and dual tail lights would adorn the rear. At the same time, a large front grille, advanced light-emitting diode headlights and a pair of fog lights would be prominent features up front.

A large grille would impart the sense of a wide stance and fog lights would assist driver vision in inclement weather conditions.

The 2016 Bronco Raptor interior would be roomy enough for five adults to fit in complete comfort. The seats would serve their occupants well on uneven, off-road terrains. There would be more than enough legroom for everyone and lots of cargo space. A large touch-screen panel would relay information from satellite sources and supply entertainment for all passengers. Upholstery would be of high-quality materials.

Unfortunately, Ford came out with the statement that it values the iconic Bronco name and history—but there is no current plan for a new model.
