July 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Atlanta-based writer Danielle Singleton, author of the newly-released thriller Price of Life, is donating 10% of the book proceeds to help charities fighting human trafficking.

“One of the reasons why I felt called to write Price of Life was to raise awareness of the problems of slavery and human trafficking, but I didn't want to just talk about helping. I wanted to do something to help. Donating a portion of the book proceeds is the least I can do,” Singleton said.

Living in Atlanta is one of the reasons why Singleton felt it was particularly important to get involved in the anti-trafficking movement. “I was shocked and saddened to learn that Atlanta is the #1 city in the country for human trafficking. I think everyone in the metro area should be aware of that and do whatever they can to help stop these horrible crimes.”

Price of Life – How much are you worth?

At some point in their lives, everyone asks themselves the same question: ‘how much am I worth?’ For the protagonist in Price of Life, the question is far too literal and comes when she is far too young. When Luisa Dominguez is thirteen years old, her mother sells her into slavery.

Set against the backdrop of war-torn Honduras and the massive criminal enterprise of human trafficking, Price of Life is a fictionalized account of the very real phenomenon of child sex slavery. Spanning two years, four countries, and seven different owners, Luisa lives in a world that few know and even fewer want to admit still exists. Throughout her journey, the teenage girl must fight for her dignity, her life, and her soul – all the while knowing that her days and nights belong to someone else.
