KENNESAW, Ga. - March 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Over sixty students, teachers, and members of the metro Atlanta community turned out at Harrison High School on Thursday night to hear author Danielle Singleton speak about her career and the publishing industry and give advice to aspiring writers.

Ms. Singleton spoke to the crowd about how she decided to become an author, her experience in the publishing industry, and several tips for successful writing, including finding one's own style and the importance of research. She also answered questions such as how to develop characters, the best way to edit books, and how to copyright one’s novels. The speech was followed by a book signing.

A native of Kennesaw, Ms. Singleton has been hailed as a “top notch mystery writer” of the “same caliber as James Patterson.” She is the author of three novels, two of which have appeared on Amazon’s bestseller lists in both the United States and Great Britain. Singleton’s fourth book, The Containment Zone, will be released April 29.

The event was co-sponsored by the Harrison High School Spanish Honor Society, Marketing class, and DECA Club.
