LIVINGSTON, NJ - Livingston resident Beth Nydick, the brains behind the upscale healthy lifestyle brand Beth’s Blueprint (http://bethsblueprint.com/), will appear on ABC’s “The CHEW (http://abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/episode-guide/2015-07/01-light-easy)” on July 1, at 1 p.m. showing viewers how to incorporate the Vitamix into their everyday lives. Nydick, whose self-made nutrition bars are currently being sold in nine local health-food stores, was an example of a mom who uses her Vitamix for healthy living.

The pre-taped segment highlights families like Nydick’s that place a high value on leading a healthy lifestyle. Nydick met the criteria, not only because she uses her Vitamix daily, but also because she is the mother and friend that those around her come to when they are craving a nutritious meal.

“The CHEW” came to Nydick’s home with three culinary professionals, two ABC producers, a Vitamix representative and a camera crew to record the segment that will air on Wednesday. Daphne Oz, one of the daytime show’s five co-hosts, helped Nydick prepare a fruit-and-coconut sorbet, while Nydick prepared two of her favorite Vitamix recipes and her two sons made green smoothies.

“It’s hard to find a healthy-eating regime,” said Nydick. “People want to start eating healthy and are looking for something quick because everyone’s busy—so being able to incorporate my recipes into their everyday lifestyles allows them to eat real foods.”

“I started on this journey to really help myself, and my family, but I quickly realized that I could help others by using myself as an example of what can happen when you eat whole real foods and get rid of bad habits and processed foods,” she said.

According to Nydick, “The CHEW” wanted to highlight a family that uses the Vitamix blender, which Nydick uses every day to prepare healthy, fresh foods for her husband and two kids. Nydick said she is delighted to promote the product on the show because it allows users to make quick, easy meals with the family and be happy with what they are putting into their bodies.

From a business standpoint, Nydick said she is excited to get her name in the public eye and hopes to get her product and cookbooks into people’s hands so that they can begin to incorporate Beth’s Blueprint into their lifestyles.

“When you go to different websites they say ‘you can’t eat this, you can’t eat that’ and what I’m showing you is what you can eat to lead a healthy lifestyle,” said Nydick. “You can feed yourself and your family healthy real foods and have a job and be home for the kids, or be single, or whatever—it’s easier than you think it is.”

Nydick, like many people, got into nutrition after having kids when she wasn’t feeling like her best self.

“I really got into having a healthy lifestyle because I wasn't feeling healthy, or balanced—I didn't know what I was doing and did not like where I was,” said Nydick, who was determined to change her own life and raise her kids to have the same healthy attitude.

What started out as small cooking classes, health consultations and culinary demonstrations developed into Beth’s Blueprint, offering holistic and organic recipes and healthy lifestyle advice. Eventually, Nydick was able to create a nutrition bar made with seeds, nuts and oats with a honey-nut butter base, dry fruit and dark chocolate, which is now available in nine local stores including Green Nectar Juicery in Millburn. She also blogs about growing her nutritional bar company and the challenges she faces in working toward bringing it to market.

“The difference between my product and other products on the shelves is that there’s nothing else in it besides a few ingredients,” said Nydick. “Meaning they’re real food ingredients—there’s nothing but seeds, nuts and oats—the honey is organic, the peanut butter is organic, the dry fruit is organic as is the dark chocolate.”

According to Nydick, many other bars like hers include products like soy lecithin or brown rice syrup, whereas Nydick’s are free of any preservatives—they are 100 percent organic. For a quick fix, Nydick says people tend to stop by popular chains like Dunkin Donuts for ready-made coffee and a sandwich. The recipes Nydick will showcase on “The CHEW,” as well as the ones on her site, teach people how to make the same things at home in an easy, quick and clean manner.

“It’s really about opening up the opportunity for them to be able to incorporate healthy real foods in an easy way,” said Nydick. “Most people don’t know how to cook, don’t want to cook, or are intimidated by cooking, and I show them a way that’s easy, quick and clean.”

Not busy enough writing cookbooks, blogging, and managing her food enterprise, this entrepreneur is currently offering health coaching, nutrition counseling, supermarket trips, a membership site and more, via her website. She is also speaking on real food eating and having a healthy lifestyle.

Nydick hopes that her demonstration on “The CHEW” will encourage viewers to visit her website (http://bethsblueprint.com/) and the Beth’s Blueprint Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/BethsBlueprint) page to learn more about her products and how adopting a healthy lifestyle can change their lives.
