FDM Group’s Rod Flavell wins ‘Best CEO in the IT Industry 2015’ in the European CEO Awards

June 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Rod Flavell, CEO and Founder of international IT and business services provider, FDM Group, has been recognised as ‘Best CEO in the IT Industry’ in the European CEO Awards 2015.

Organised by World News Media, the awards celebrate leaders that are making strides in the European and wider economies. The winners are chosen by European CEO Magazine’s readers and dedicated selection panel based upon product, functional, strategic, and managerial innovation in companies and individuals showing commercial insight and market integrity.

Flavell was originally nominated for UK CEO of the Year, however the selection panel felt that his achievements both industry wide and globally deserved to be recognised on a larger scale. Flavell will be receiving his award at the London Stock Exchange before being filmed on camera at their studios this month.

Of his win Rod Flavell said, “I am humbled and honoured to win this prestigious award and be recognised by the European CEO Awards judging panel. FDM has grown enormously since its inception some 25 years ago and this award is testament to all the dedication and hard work that FDMers across the globe put in every day. Whilst it is nice to be personally recognised in this way, I must highlight that without all the incredible people at the heart of FDM, we would not be where we are today. I am very proud of the people I lead.”

European CEO’s award selection panel used a wide range of criteria to inform its decision over its 2015 Awards, lending the critical eye of a collective 205 years of business journalism to the exhaustive information gathered by the award body’s research team. Some of the factors considered were: external growth policies, organisational behaviour, resource and people management, marketing and investor communications and market capitalisation and sustainability.

Flavell founded FDM in 1991 under the name FDI. In 1995, Flavell acquired Mountfield, an IT training and software enterprise, prompting the name change to FDM Group. His vision was to create a unique IT and business services company that combines training and commercial experience, eradicating the catch 22 that graduates face and in turn supplying clients with a talent pipeline for the future. Last year, FDM re-listed on the London Stock Exchange as Britain’s largest listed IT services provider and now has a global workforce of over 2,600 people.

This award comes at an excellent time, as FDM approaches its twenty-fifth year of business and its new state of the art office opening in Leeds last week. The move to Leeds signals FDM’s ongoing expansion and development as the company strives to continue meeting clients demands, as well as having the capacity to create and inspire many more exciting careers that shape our digital future. As the UK’s leading IT graduate employer, FDM aims to hire up to 1,000 graduates globally in 2015 and has already employed over 550 so far. In the past year, FDM has welcomed 50 new clients from multiple industries and has over 120 university partnerships worldwide, as it continues to expand its offering across the globe.
