By: FDM Group Flavell is the Chief Operating Officer of FDM, a professional services firm with a focus on IT. She played an integral role in the Group’s flotation on AIM in 2005 and was a key instigator of the management buy-out of the group in 2010 and the subsequent float onto the main FTSE market in June 2014. Flavell heavily promotes diversity in the workplace and spearheads FDM’s global Women in IT initiative. As a result, circa 50% of the senior management team at FDM are women. The aim of this annual list is to focus on the role of women in tech by recognising the most vital roles that female IT leaders play in the UK’s economy. Of her win, Flavell said, “It is a great honour to be recognised by Computer Weekly as an influential women in IT and to be mentioned amongst so many other inspirational female figures, as we look to inspire the future generation of women tech talent.
