Campus Friends Recognise Student Achievement

A Central Coast Community College student who overcame exceptional circumstances to complete her studies in the Certificate III in Aged Care, has been awarded a special prize for her achievements

GOSFORD, Australia - May 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Rebecca Knibb was presented with the Central Coast Campus Friends Award at the College’s Annual Awards night in April, in front of her family and peers.

To receive this award, Rebecca had to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement whilst overcoming obstacles during her studies.

As well as receiving the $500 Award, Rebecca has also gained an honorary membership to Central Coast Campus Friends for a year.

Beth Bolte, President of Central Coast Campus Friends, said that their organisation is committed to strengthening post school education on the Coast and the annual award had gone to a worthy recipient.

“Rebecca Knibb is a very worthy recipient of our Award. She is a young lady whose exceptional personal circumstances were overcome to complete her qualifications for the Aged Care industry. We wish Rebecca every success in her chosen career”, Ms Bolte said.

Rebecca had Glandular Fever in Year 11 which then left her with Chronic Fatigue. Having missed a lot of school due to illness she decided to attend Central Coast Community College and study the Certificate III in Aged Care Work instead of repeating the school year.

Rebecca excelled in the course whilst studying and looking after her health. Once completing her Certificate III in Aged Care she started work at Henry Kendall Nursing Home, and is currently studying to be an Enrolled Nurse at TAFE. Rebecca plans to further her nursing career in the future by completing a Bachelor of Nursing. For more information regarding College courses visit www.cccc.nsw.edu.au.
