Youth Program a Beauty at College!

 
OURIMBAH, Australia - March 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Central Coast Community College have teamed up with Wyong High School to run a specialised Youth Program at the College’s Ourimbah Campus.

The government funded program aims to re engage high school students who are at risk of leaving school early, in a learning experience that has a practical approach.

Students involved in the Links to Learning Program are studying skills sets from the SIB20210 Certificate II in Nail Technology.

Jonathan Davis, Executive Director at Central Coast Community College said “the partnership between industry, the College and the school is helping to meet the skills shortage for trained Nail Technicians on the Central Coast.

“They are showing initiative will take part in upcoming student clinic days”, said Mr Davis.

Gary Hearn, Transition Advisor at Wyong High School says that the partnership has been successful on a number of levels.

“This is a brilliant partnership between Central Coast Community College and Wyong High School.

“Our students are achieving independence and gaining self esteem and confidence through the Program.

Rodney Hill, Principal of Wyong High School said “The partnership between the College and the school is important as it enhances the educational opportunities of our students. They are really enjoying the program and it’s great to see them develop skills that would not otherwise have been provided”, he said.
