Follow on Google News | Mace Workshop at KOR Strength and Conditioning Gym in San Diego on May 2, 2015By: KOR Strength and Conditioning The benefits of Mace Swinging are numerous and include: Grip Strength and Endurance – It requires you to flex and adjust the hand dynamically throughout the range of motion which tires out the entire hand as well as the full length of the forearm. Shoulder Flexibility / Mobility – The relatively light weight of the implement is enough to stretch out the musculature slightly, improving range of motion. This is also effective as an upper body warm-up Core Training – Maintaining a stable core while swinging the mace dynamically works the abs, lats, and muscles of the back as well, again, excellent for a warm-up method or finisher for your workouts. Rik Brown, a pioneer in American Mace Swinging Training, will be teaching the class alongside KOR Founder and Trainer, Dan Bettcher. Rik Brown has been featured by Onnit Academy, My Mad Methods, and is part of the Steel, Stone, and Sugar Unconventional Fitness Workshop Group. Dan Bettcher is a certified Russian Kettlebell Instructor (RKC), an NASM certified personal trainer (CPT) and performance enhancement specialist (PES), an advanced flexibility specialist, functional movement screen certified and an active isolated stretching (AIS) therapist. In addition to the training workshop all participants will receive 10% off Maces, Kettlebells, and other select products from our workshop sponsor EquipmentRaw.com. In order to attend this workshop participants must RSVP ahead of time and can do that by calling KOR at 619.450.6035. Workshop will take place at 4223 30th Street, Suite B, San Diego, CA 92104.
