HARRISON, Ohio - March 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Breakfast just got better thanks to JTM’s new line of Fundles™, individually wrapped stuffed sandwiches designed to make it easier for food service directors to serve a hot breakfast item that meets the requirements of the National School Breakfast Program (NSBP). Combining a whole grain rich crust with JTM’s signature fillings, Fundles™ are both nutritious and appealing to students in the thousands of schools JTM serves across the country.

The Fundles™ come packaged in ovenable/microwavable film, making them easy to heat, hold, and transport. They work well in a traditional cafeteria-style serving area, or for breakfast right in the classroom, a trend that continues to grow in popularity with districts across the country. While they are designed to help meet the grain requirements of the NSBP, the versatile sandwiches can also be served for lunch. The new line features four varieties:

Breakfast Skillet: A savory blend of eggs, potatoes and cheese stuffed inside a whole grain rich biscuit-style crust. Packed 160, 2.8 oz. Fundles™ per case.

Breakfast: (1) Fundle™ provides 2.0 WGR equivalents

Savory Sausage Gravy: Reduced sodium pork sausage gravy stuffed inside a whole grain rich biscuit-style crust. Packed 160, 3.10 oz. Fundles™ per case.

Fiesta Bean and Cheese: A zesty blend of whole and refried pinto beans, cheese, and red enchilada sauce stuffed inside a whole grain rich, corn masa-infused crust. Packed 160, 3.0 oz. Fundles™ per case.

Breakfast: (1) Fundle™ provides 2.0 WGR equivalents

Fiesta Taco and Cheese: Traditional, vegetarian taco filling blended with cheese and stuffed inside a whole grain rich, corn masa-infused crust. Packed 120, 4.0 oz. servings per case.

“Our customers have been telling us that they are hungry for innovative, new breakfast products,” said Brian Hofmeier, Vice President of Education Sales for JTM. “Because more schools are moving towards unconventional service settings, we wanted to develop a product that is easy to transport and can be served just about anywhere. We decided to take a selection of our signature fillings and stuff them inside whole grain rich dough to create the Fundle™—a perfect mash-up of flavor, fun and nutrition.

The Fundles™ line is a unique, custom offering from JTM, and the hand-held sandwich is a product students are sure to love. JTM will showcase Fundles™ at the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference, July 13-15 at Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
