Follow on Google News | Good Shepherd Shelter Volunteers Organize Open Mic Night to Say #NOMORE“Good Shepherd Shelter is proving that there can be no more domestic violence” said Astrid Quinones, Good Shepherd Volunteer. “The great progress that I have witnessed within each family have inspired me to raise awareness through poetry”. To raise awareness about domestic violence, it is imperative that the stories of survivors are shared and heard. Whether you would like to share or listen, all are welcome to participate. As a community, we must keep the conversation going and say no more to domestic violence. Bring your friends, poems and snap the evening away as you hear the stories of survivors and advocates shared. When: Thursday March 12, 2015 5 – 7 PM Where: Blu Elefant Café 2024 W Washington Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90018 For more information contact Astrid Quinones, aquinones@goodshepherdshelter.org About Good Shepherd Shelter Good Shepherd Shelter’s program focuses on reawakening dignity and self-confidence, giving the mothers the tools and the time to heal from the trauma of domestic violence and become independent, while giving the children new ways of interacting and communicating that are violence-free and respectful.
