Acura Celebrates 20 Years of American Auto ManufacturingThe luxury automaker marked two decades of producing vehicles in North America with the 2016 Acura ILX.
By: Chicagoland Acura Dealers This isn't just a two-decade milestone for Acura, however. The first 2016 ILX marked the 2 millionth American-made Acura model to roll off of the assembly line. Rob May, plant manager where the ILX was produced, said, "the ILX is another exciting stage in our history with the Acura brand. Our associates are applying our tremendous experience in producing high quality Acura products and will leverage the production of TLX and ILX in one plant to meet the high expectations of our Acura customers." That the ILX was the vehicle for Acura's 2-millionth car was no accident. This car is set to be the gateway into the luxury car world, giving young professionals a classy option that can still fit into a budget that is dealing with rent and even student loans. While the 2016 ILX is not yet available to Chicago drivers, Chicagoland Acura Dealers has the 2015 Acura ILX in stock and ready to go as well as the TLX and RLX sedans and the MDX and RDX crossovers. Each of these five Acura models has its own unique appeal while still remaining distinctly Acura. The TLX gives drivers their option of fuel-efficient or high-powered mid-size sedan, the RLX steps everything up to the next level as far as features and power are concerned, the RDX represents an uncompromising compact crossover, and the MDX is one of the few three-row luxury crossovers available. To learn more about the upcoming 2016 Acura ILX or Acura's long history of providing affordable and luxurious sedans, coupes, and crossovers, contact a Chicagoland Acura Dealer.
