Acura Leads Luxury Brands in Government Safety Scores

CHICAGO - Aug. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- With the awarding of a Five-Star Overall Vehicle Safety Score to the 2016 Acura RDX, the entire Acura lineup has now earned top marks from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program. That includes the RDX, its larger sibling the 2016 Acura MDX, and the 2015 Acura TLX, 2016 Acura RLX, and 2016 Acura ILX.

While this is certainly a remarkable feat, this isn't the first time that the Acura brand has had the top safety rating across its entire lineup. In fact, this makes the sixth time the Acura brand has earned such a recognition from the NHTSA. Good old-fashioned engineering accounts for much of the lineup's successes in NHTSA safety scores, but the new AcuraWatch safety and driver assistance tech certainly helps with features designed to help avoid collisions entirely.

The new AcuraWatch safety suite adds on amenities like:
* Adaptive cruise control with low-speed following
* Collision mitigation braking
* Lane departure warning
* Forward collision warning
* Lane keeping assist
* Road departure mitigation
* Multi-angle rearview camera
