Techno CNC Projects News a CNC Router Time Study

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - Jan. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Techno CNC Systems just completed a time study on an HD Model 4896 CNC Router (http://www.technocnc.com/cnc-router-systems/HD-series-cnc-router.htm) using a 4 HP HSD spindle and an upcut spiral O'flute Onsrud 63 Series cutter. The piece machined is extruded grade nylon (http://www.technocnc.com/cnc-router-systems/applications-routable-materials-cnc-routers.htm) made by Invista with sections of an adhesive coating (green areas) used in the automotive industry. This application required extra attention toward the adhesive material as it tends to flake or deform if not cut correctly. Techno's engineers ran several tests finding the optimum speed for the cut while achieving a desired edge finish the customer was seeking. It was determined during this study custom fixturing would be required to support the extrude grade nylon on it's top profiled cross section to minimize the extrusions tendency to vibrate. With this custom fixture a high rate of speed can be achieved to cut this material in a production environment.

The machine Techno used is their new HD CNC Router an affordable, quality CNC system with features such as all steel construction, precision linear rails and bearings, precision helical rack and pinion on the X and Y axes, and a ball screw on the Z axis. The system includes brushless microstepper motors and controls with a very easy-to-use hand-held controller.
