Silver Connections - Social Group For Active, Age 55+ Adults That Also Gives Back To The Community

RALEIGH, N.C. - Jan. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Triangle business Silver Connections partnered with several philanthropies this holiday season to reach out to help others. The Caring House, Wreaths Across America and the Pajama Program are all organizations that Silver Connections and its members were involved with in December.

“The main component of Silver Connections is our social events throughout the Triangle and our travel program, but also feel that giving back to the community is of the upmost importance to our company philosophy" said Laura Kay House, Silver Connections owner.

Members are never pressured to sign-up for volunteering/giving events, but can do so if they feel they want to be a part of a particular philanthropic program.

“I was truly amazed at the wonderful dishes provided for The Caring House and the time involved to not only prepare the meal, but participate in serving it" said Mrs. House. “The amount of wreaths purchased for Wreaths Across America at Oakwood Cemetery was astounding and the members who came out for the ceremony were so moved by this event.  One of our members also hosted a Holiday Party and asked members instead of bringing a dish or beverage, to bring a donation of pajamas or books that were then given to the Pajama Program.  The whole side of the hostess's dining room was filled with pajamas and books!” said Ms. House.  “Our Silver Connections members are very generous individuals. They so enjoy all the socializing opportunities, the friends and the fun provided, but also want to volunteer and help others."

Silver Connections partners with Wreaths Across America and The Pajama Program during the holidays, but works with The Caring House, The Raleigh Rescue Mission and other organizations throughout the year.

"Volunteering to help others is always something I love to do, but volunteering with others as a group, even makes it more rewarding "  said Connie Staple, Silver Connections member.  "Working with others, for others, is even better."
