MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Bruceton Mills, West Virginia (December 30, 2014) – This week, Puris, LLC (http://purisllc.com/) represents West Virginia’s rich manufacturing history with a modern twist on AOL’s editorial series This Built America (http://www.thisbuiltamerica.com/).

CEO Craig Kirsch knows that titanium, alloy powder and near-net shape manufacturing probably isn’t the first industry you think of when contemplating West Virginia, but it may soon. After recently merging with Pittsburgh-based Summit Materials, Kirsch is joined by Eric Bono and world-renowned metallurgist Fred Yolton. With titanium powder gaining popularity in 3-D printing, Puris, LLC is poised to become a leader in the industry. “The 3-D printing companies who want to use titanium powder to make things don’t know how to do it yet,” explains Kirsch. “And we ultimately want to teach them everything because we want them to buy our powder.

Puris’ “fanatically clean” facility is home to a rapidly growing staff of dedicated employees. That includes 28 year-old Matt DuBois, who found a career he’d never have expected while majoring in history and religious studies at West Virginia University. But now he knows the ins and outs of Puris as a production supervisor. “You can feel how the machine is running,” states DuBois. “These machines have a personality. If there’s something weird going on, you can definitely tell.”

Puris, LLC joins a national movement in This Built America that is devoted to supporting American companies and American-made products. AOL is proud to support the effort along with sponsor Ford Trucks. Through the year, the editorial and video teams will explore 50 states in 50 weeks to bring 50 stories of the people who are bringing back manufacturing to America. The platform is produced in coordination with Man Made Content.
