By: Albert's Table These Tasting Evenings have been held regularly at the Croydon restaurant for over a year now and are a much loved and highly anticipated event. Joby, the head chef and owner of Albert’s Table, hosts the evenings every few months to showcase the new produce available locally as the seasons change. The meal begins with canapés and prosecco, which is followed by a superb 4 course meal. The January Tasting also includes a cheese course which can be enjoyed for an additional £10. Each dish is carefully created in the kitchen and artfully presented on the plate. Wine, chosen by Joby and his expert wine suppliers to perfectly compliment each dish is served with each course. The highlight of the evening for many of Albert’s Table customers is the end of the evening. After dessert Joby comes to the dining room to discuss the meal with the guests and answer any questions that they may have about the produce, wine or cooking techniques. Here is what Joby says about the Tasting Evenings; “Albert’s Table is about finding the best local ingredients, and cooking them really simply and honestly. I love the Tasting Evenings, they let me share with our guests the amazing produce that is available in Surrey, Kent, Sussex and beyond. I particularly enjoy the informal discussion at the end of the evening and how passionate our guests are about food.
