RecruitMilitary to Sponsor Second Annual DAV 5k Race

LOVELAND, Ohio - Oct. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- RecruitMilitary, the nation’s leading military-to-civilian recruitment firm, is a corporate sponsor of the second annual DAV 5K Walk, Run, Roll, and Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Sawyer Point in Cincinnati.

This is the second year RecruitMilitary is participating as a sponsor of the race.  “We’re proud to partner with such a tremendous organization like DAV that does such great work in supporting our nation’s veterans who have been injured,” said Peter Gudmundsson, President of RecruitMilitary. In addition to participating as a sponsor, many RecruitMilitary employees plan to participate in the race itself.

The event kicks off with a Motorcycle Honor Ride which leads runners and walkers along the downtown course. There will be a one mile wheelchair honor roll for all veterans and service members who cannot physically participate in the course, but would like to be part of the race experience. Throughout the course will be branches of service-themed bands and entertainment. Medals will be awarded to the top 100 female finishers and top 100 male 5k finishers.

It is estimated that the number of injured veterans will rise from 3.5 to 4 million by the end of this decade. In its last accounting year, 76% of all DAV contributions were used for programs of service to injured veterans and their families. DAV services are free to veterans.
