ISO 27001:2013 was published on the 1st of October 2013 and it has replaced ISO 27001:2005. This new version has been modified to fit the new high-level structure used in all management system standards, making its integration with other management systems an easy option. ISO 27001:2013 provides a set of standardized requirements for an information security management system (ISMS). An ISMS is a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information so that it remains secure. It includes people, processes and IT systems by applying a risk management process.
