CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Sept. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- BabyGearLab reviewed and tested 21 of the top competing toddler sippy cups, designed for children over 9 months old, to find the top sippy cup of 2014. The toddler cups were tested for ease of use, ease of cleaning, potential leakage, and any eco-health attributes. In the end, lab test scores and feedback from a collection of toddler testers, helped to determine which cups took home awards. The winners, losers, and how the rest stacked up, is now available on BabyGearLab’s website.

The awards were given to the following cups:

Editors’ Choice was awarded to Pura Kiki Toddler. This eco-friendly health conscious sippy is made of food grade stainless steel and offers a silicone nozzle for easy sipping. Dr. Juliet Spurrier, BabyGearLab founder, says “The Pura is a great, all around versatile sippy that can grow with your child from bottle to kid’s cup. This cup is easy to wash, easy to use, and is durable enough to last for years or through several children. However, my favorite thing about this sippy is it is completely free of plastics. ”

Top Pick for Insulated was given to the Thermos Foogo Insulated Phase 3. This insulated sippy is easy to use, clean, and had several health attributes many other insulated cups didn’t. As Juliet Spurrier, MD commented, “The Foogo Insulated has a nice easy to use straw mouthpiece preferred by the American Dental Association as well as an insulated body for keeping contents fresh and cool for longer periods of time. This cup is tough to beat for parents looking for a durable eco-healthy options and a straw style spout.”

Best Value was earned by Tommee Tippee Sporty Bottle. The Sporty Bottle is a budget friendly cup that is very easy to use and completely leak free. Dr. Spurrier of BabyGearLab says, “This cup is a great economical cup for parents on a budget. It scored very well in our tests and children found the spout style easy to use. We liked that the cup is easy to clean, and absolutely refused to leak, even when we tried to force it.”

Products were tested by in-house testers of various ages for each metric, as well as side-by-side lab test comparisons for accurate scoring. All cups were put through the same lab tests to determine leakage, ease of sucking, cleaning, and assembly. Products were weighed and measured using the same equipment for accuracy and direct comparison purposes.

BabyGearLab.com has also published a buying advice article on “How to Choose the Best Sippy Cup”. This article offers guidance to caregivers on how to choose the best cup for a specific purpose or child, depending on your needs or how the product will be used.
