SuckleBusters Original BBQ Sauce Takes First Place at Louisiana Hot Sauce Festival

LAFAYETTE, La. - July 25, 2014 - PRLog -- SuckleBusters Inc. continues its domination in regional food competitions by taking first place in the vinegar-based barbecue sauce category at the Louisiana Hot Sauce Festival. The festival was held in Lafayette’s historic Acadian Village, with winners selected by more than 30 judges from across the country that included executive chefs, restaurant chefs, and hot sauce industry experts.

"I'm thrilled!” said Dan Arnold, President of SuckleBusters. “This is the seventh national award for SuckleBusters’ original barbecue sauce.”

Lafayette’s inaugural hot sauce festival was created exclusively for indie merchants, who came from 16 states and 12 countries across the globe. There were more than 30 specialty hot sauce vendors competing for a title alongside some of the best barbeque sauce makers in the United States. The judges had to sample almost 600 sauces before choosing the winners.

After winning in his category, Arnold said, “Our original barbecue sauce just keeps winning and winning. It is the winningest sauce in Texas! That's why we call it the best barbecue sauce in Texas!"

Sucklebusters continues to see strong retail demand for all of its award winning barbeque sauces and rubs. They hope to get their products into more specialty retailers and expand the business by 30 percent in 2014.
