The Truth is many investors do real estate deal after deal and make great profits . . . but they give away a HUGE CHUNK of those profits in Taxes. The motivation behind these proposals is to increase tax revenue. The effect is to target the real estate industry, particularly real estate investors and business owners. However the ripple effect would see reduced numbers of transactions as owners would just hold on to properties rather than sell and realize gains that would need to be taxed. And the sale of property employees many different people from realtors, lenders, appraisers, title companies, attorneys and more.
