Groople releases revamped website becoming expert in group travel

DENVER - June 19, 2014 - PRLog -- With a goal of transforming group travel alongside reviving the Groople booking platform and brand, The Stage Fund has appointed John Butler as CEO of www.groople.com.  Butler used his industry experience and technology resources to completely rebuild the Groople website into a state-of-the-art, user-friendly group travel hotel booking site.  Groople’s new site allows it to be the expert in group-travel by bringing together Groups + People, hence Groople!

CEO John Butler brings an extensive career in the hospitality and OTA industry to Groople.  Most recently, John led the group sales operations for Hotels.com and Expedia globally.  During his time managing groups, he brought profitability to the business while taking the department through some tough times with the economic downturn of 2009.  John also executed a strategic plan to reduce cancellations of the groups that the department booked by over 50%, while focusing on increasing customer satisfaction and retention.  Prior to group sales John held various senior positions in market management and revenue management at Expedia and Hotels.com.  John’s resume also brings to The Stage Fund & Groople a career that includes 15 years in the hospitality industry at corporate and the hotel level, where he held various roles including rooms division and general manager, as well as, teaching revenue management for Radisson Hotels and Resorts.  This puts John in the unique position of always looking at the group business from three dimensions; the customer, the hotel partner, and Groople needs to satisfy all.
