Fugitive Running From Manslaughter Conviction Caught in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - June 17, 2014 - PRLog -- It sounds good when you're thinking it.  The Bible does say that "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death (Prov 14:12 esv)."  Reality is very seldom true to how man envisions it.  I mean if you think Las Vegas, you probably think: TRANSIENT, EASY TO BLEND IN.  That is far from the truth.  Our local Clark County Detention Center is riddled with folks arrested as fugitives from other jurisdictions.  Being a bail bondsman, I see this weekly or sometimes daily.  I'll pull up a person's name and the description reads exactly, "ARREST FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE ON CMPL/WARRANT."

This is exactly what one sees when they pull up the name Delbert F. Brechler in the CCDC database.  Nope, no bail for him.  No bail bond big enough for County to take.  Aint no mountain high enough, to keep him away from justice.

Now it appears Mr. Delbert has a possible 36 year prison sentence awaiting him on his return to justice in Mohave County.  He is not fighting extraditon.  He was found guilty of DUI and manslaughter of 17 year old Cody Raymond of Kingman Arizona last week.  It was a trial and conviction that Brechler wasn't even present for.  He was on the run already evidently.  Brechler slammed his Volvo into Raymond's Ford Ranger pick up truck at a high rate of speed last July, and he is now hopefully receiving his justice almost a year later.  Praying for Cody Raymond's loved ones--maybe they can sleep a little bit easier after Brechler's arrest last Friday the 13th.  Unlucky for the defendant, but good news for the victim's family.  Maybe they can get an ounce of peace for the void that this man left in their hearts.
