NurseWise Presents Clinical Training Best Practices at American Academy of Ambulatory Care N

ST. LOUIS - May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- NurseWise, a national nurse triage and health education provider, was honored to present at the 39th annual American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Conference, May 19 through 22, in New Orleans, La. More than 700 nurses from across the country assembled to share best practices, health care trends and ambulatory care and telehealth nursing developments.

NurseWise Clinical Educator Shemelle Davis, MSN, RN, NurseWise Director of Compliance Dana Houle, MHM, BSN, RN, CCM, CPHQ, and consultant Sherry Smith, MSN, MBA, RN, co-presented a session titled “Toward Clinical Excellence: Reinvigoration of a Clinical Training Program.” The session centered on the importance of creating clinical training programs that focus on the unique knowledge, challenges and training needs of telehealth and triage nurses.

Dana Houle, MHM, BSN, RN, CCM, CPHQ

As the Director of NurseWise’s Compliance Department, Dana Houle, MHM, BSN, RN, CCM, CPHQ, manages all facets of compliance oversight for NurseWise. Houle joined NurseWise in 2010. She holds a master’s degree in health management from Lindenwood University, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Maryville University, and an associate’s degree in nursing from St. Charles County Community College. Houle also holds professional certifications in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and Achieved Case Management Certification (CCM).

Shemelle Davis, MSN, RN

With nearly a decade of nursing experience, Shemelle R. Davis, RN, MSN, is a skilled clinical leader who joined NurseWise in January 2014. As NurseWise’s Clinical Educator, she has developed an enhanced training track for nurses with evidence-based nursing practice, developed a preceptor program, created a mentor program, and is crafting e-learning modules to advance annual continuing education for the clinical staff. Davis holds a master’s degree in nursing from Walden University, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri St Louis, and is a graduate of the New Teachers Institute at the University of Central Missouri. She is also an active member of the American Association of Critical Care Nursing.
