NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. - May 23, 2014 - PRLog -- A seven-pound puppy was tossed from a car into traffic in Chicopee, MA the morning of Wednesday May 21, 2014.  The Schnauzer, approximately 1-year old, was not only thrown from the car into the road, but then according to a witness, the same car hit the puppy with its rear tire and kept on going.

"Harry", as the dog is now being called, was taken to the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Shelter where Dr. Lauren Atkins revived him. He is still being evaluated, but his injuries could be more severe than a broken leg. The dog's owner has come foward indicating he ran away on Tuesday. Law enforcement from the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is now investigating and a search is underway for the driver of the car that hit Harry.

The Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Shelter is collaborating with the local community to raise funds for Harry's pelvis surgery.  Donations can be made at PetChance.org using the following web link:  http://www.petchance.org/chances/1033.  The net proceeds raised will go directly to the hospital for Harry's care.
