Lech Wałęsa to Speak at IESE Business School

Nobel Laureate Will Share His Experiences of Leading in Challenging Conditions

May 6, 2014 - PRLog -- On June 2, 2014 IESE Business School will welcome Lech Wałęsa, the former President of Poland and recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Mr. Wałęsa will feature as a keynote speaker of IESE’s Fast Forward Program, which will run from June 2 to 6 on the school’s Barcelona campus.

As one of the most influential figures in the political and social transformation of Europe in the 20th century, Lech Wałęsa provides an exceptional perspective on the challenges of leading change in the face of adversity. During his session, he will offer insights on inspirational leadership by sharing his frontline experiences as a political activist, founder of the Soviet bloc's first independent trade union Solidarity, and architect of Poland’s transformation to a post-Communist state.

Fast Forward is a customizable 5-day program designed to accelerate corporate growth by analyzing the most significant socioeconomic currents and relevant trends for global businesses. In its second edition, Fast Forward includes plenary sessions on four distinct business areas and three parallel themed tracks on managing complexity, innovation and intrapreneurship, and the implications of technological change on global businesses.

Keynote sessions complement the program’s academic core. In addition to Mr. Wałęsa, Fast Forward will also welcome Herman Daems of BNP Paribas Fortis; Steve Capus, former president of NBC News; and Sheila Heen, a globally acclaimed mediation expert and lecturer at Harvard Law School.
