PurpleFox Gives Something Back With Career Insights Via Internships

NEWBURY, U.K. - April 28, 2014 - PRLog -- Award-winning marketing firm PurpleFox knows how to give the best service to its clients, and now its giving something vital to Newbury’s community through rewarding internships and work experience.

The firm, based in London Road, Newbury, has advised companies during the recession, worked on the portfolios of start-ups and knows nothing is more important for the next generation than hands on experience.

Apprenticeships and other schemes all offer young people and school leavers the opportunity to experience working life. Within a supportive framework, these people can be on the path to a great qualification. It’s a realistic and worthy alternative to an expensive, lengthy university course.

Katie Dunn, 19, who is studying at the WBTC and Newbury College, has been working at PurpleFox for eight months.

She said: “In this day and age many schools frown upon not going to university, but if I did go to university I wouldn’t be in the fantastic position I am in today.

“After leaving sixth form with little guidance on what to do next, I decided that an apprenticeship would be the perfect thing for me, as retail was really not something I wanted to pursue. After searching and researching into apprenticeships I finally found myself at PurpleFox Marketing doing a Business Admin apprenticeship.

“I’ve been working here for almost eight months, and I have decided that I would like to take my career path into marketing due to the enthusiasm of PurpleFox. Louise especially made me realise that marketing is something that I would really like to grow into.

“She has helped me find the sectors I am most passionate about, whether that be social media or email marketing. If it weren’t for PurpleFox I would be lost in the boring retail world!”

Louise Bowers, director of PurpleFox, said: “To keep a local economy strong and vibrant, you need to know that the people coming through your doors have the right skills. Paid internships are vital in playing a part in developing the right career path for promising students. Getting apprenticeships right is key to the future success of our town and the Thames Valley.

“Giving an opportunity to students like Katie and Hitesh helps me give something important back to the town and reminds me of the valuable guidance and insight I received from mentors when I began my career. Nothing beats direct experience in the workplace.”

Hitesh Patel said: “During my week of work experience with PurpleFox I learned lots of new skills and gained new knowledge within the subject of marketing.  I was extremely grateful that Louise took me on and I feel more local companies should do the same”.
