Vintage Park Community Church Gathers Clothes for Teen Shelter

ELK GROVE, Calif. - April 16, 2014 - PRLog -- "Thrift Store Night was created to give the teens a way to invest in their community in a fun way," said Matt the Mix's pastor.

Thrift Store Night called all the teens at Vintage Park to go to a thrift store and buy an outfit and wear it on Wednesday night when they have their youth group. The kids would then go through their closet and pick some of their favorite clothes and outfits.

The teens would then bring those clothes to give to a local teen shelter. "I love the idea and it's a great way to show the community we care and we're not selfish kids like most people think all high schoolers are," said one memer of the MIX.

After watching how much fun they had winning prizes, home made trophies, and taking pictures plus all the good it did promoting sharing and showing love to the community, I'ld say it was a great success.
