Health and Wealth for Businesswomen

CARDIFF, Wales - March 19, 2014 - PRLog -- I AM WOMAN’s Online Academy will provide members with online learning opportunities which will include analysing body language, business planning, foreign languages and  accredited programmes from the Institute of Leadership and Management. Cheryl Bass Founder and Managing Director of I AM WOMAN believes continual learning is vital for those in business.  Cheryl gained an MA in Entrepreneurship from Durham University and won ‘Dissertation of the Year’ for advancing research in entrepreneurial personality with ONCE UPON A TIME – How childhood development impacts upon entrepreneurial posture. In the years since, Cheryl has returned to Durham many times to give lectures to aspiring entrepreneurs attending the university. Cheryl is a graduate and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), an NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) Master Practitioner, Reiki Master and has trained extensively in clinical and organisational psychotherapy.

Another learning opportunity arises from  I AM WOMAN’s second Kindle book, ‘Playing And Staying At The Top Of Your Game.’ This has been written by members, to help others achieve within their industries. The book contains anecdotes and the learning points that successful businesswomen across the UK have gathered on their journeys. Cheryl Bass, PR consultant Sara Tye, Chair of I AM WOMAN and their patron  Margaret Carter who started her award winning business Patchwork Traditional Foods at her kitchen table with just £9.00, all have chapters in the book, along with more than a dozen other eminent businesswomen.

I AM WOMAN member and Holistic GP Sohère Roked (https://www.facebook.com/sohere.roked) is leading the Business Clubs’ Health Audit.  She says: ‘Often businesswomen have so much going on with their work and families that they ignore symptoms of ill health.  The Health Audit empowers Women to take control of their health. There’s an online questionnaire to complete and a resource bank containing information about many illnesses, conditions and diseases.  The resources have been compiled by knowledgeable members based on their own experiences and specialities.’ Indeed member Dawn Bevan recently told Cheryl: ‘I AM WOMAN saved my life!’  Cheryl explains: ‘Dawn attended one of the Cardiff Club’s LOOK GOOD FEEL GREAT Master Classes and Dr Sohère Roked (https://www.facebook.com/sohere.roked) did her magic. She carried out artery screening and cast a spell over Dawn for her to loose over a stone in weight and start a regime of fitness. This has given Dawn more energy and saved her life.’

The I AM WOMAN Foundation, will also be launched. This will be the umbrella for l AM WOMAN’s charity work and donations. One recent initiative is to give free memberships to a very young businesswoman who is just starting out and another, to a more mature lady who is going into self employment. The Foundation will be chaired by Swindon member and Interfaith Minister Akasha Lonsdale.

Cheryl concludes, ‘It’s such an exciting time for I AM WOMAN and women in business. Women refer 10 times more business than their male counterparts and account for 85% of the consumer spend.  We certainly see this happening at I AM WOMAN.  One recent example, involves our member Lee Ann Smith. Lee produces fabulous chocolates and when she displayed these at a recent I AM WOMAN event, the Director of Sales at the Mercure Hotel, Sharon Adams spotted them and asked Lee to produce some for the Mercure. It’s such a great good news story. We always encourage members to bring along their wares, pop up stands, and literature to meetings and here is the result of someone doing that and starting a blossoming business relationship at their first official meeting after becoming a member.

At I AM WOMAN we have a particular nurturing learning style. Our members learn by walking alongside each other, encouraging one another and sharing stories and experiences.  These new initiatives along with the growth of I AM WOMAN through more franchised clubs across the UK, will help even more aspiring women achieve their potential.’
