Film Row Art Walk to Feature Aerial Video

Get a peek behind the curtain of film production as Critical Mass Productions presents a demonstration of aerial camera videography. This stunning technique has been used to great effect in numerous films and tv shows including "The Wolf of Wall St."

OKLAHOMA CITY - March 13, 2014 - PRLog -- The Premiere on Film Row Art Walk for March is scheduled for the 21st, and local business owner Don V. Stephens III of Critical Mass Productions is hosting aerial videography demonstrations by Robert Cook and Jon Shryock.

After retiring from the USAF as a Master sergeant, Cook became an independent movie producer/director and formed Submission Productions. One of many production tools at his disposal is an un-manned helicopter capable of carrying a small digital camera for aerial video production.

Shryock, trained in mechanical aerospace engineering, operates one of the state's largest film production services business and recently added an R/C camera rig to the long list of available resources at Jon Shryock, LLC.

"I can't wait to share Robert's and Jon's work with our Premiere guests," Stephens said. "Some of the best movie moments are created with tools like this, so this will be a rare opportunity for the general public to get a peek into how the magic gets made."

Parts of Sheridan Avenue will be closed to automobile traffic for the event, so both crews will have plenty of room for the flying cameras to capture some stunning video. The images will be played on monitors in the CMP lobby for everyone to enjoy.

The district's other businesses will also be staying open with various types of performance art, visual art, and the like, making Film Row a monthly destination for people to explore.

Last year, Cook used the helicopter camera while filming a documentary film featuring the 2013 Passion Play held at the Holy City near Lawton, Oklahoma. "We got some amazing shots that otherwise would be impossible," he said.
