First Film Row Art Walk to Feature Local Singer/Songwriter

OKLAHOMA CITY - April 18, 2013 - PRLog -- The inaugural Final Friday on Film Row Art Walk is April 26, and local business owner Don V. Stephens III of Critical Mass Productions is hosting a free concert by singer/songwriter Sonya Barrett.

As one of the early tenants of Film Row, Stephens is excited about the growth of the district and the chance to show it off to people who might not know about this hidden gem of Oklahoma City.

"Even though we're more of a business-to-business (as opposed to retail) establishment, we really want to support the art walk," Stephens said. "We absolutely love Film Row, and we love that we're getting so many great new neighbors. The art walk is a chance to create a destination event that can showcase the area to city residents."

This kickoff art walk event will make Film Row a monthly destination for people to explore the district while enjoying various types of art: performance, visual, graphic, etc.

Barrett, who interned at Critical Mass, released her debut EP called "Shut" in 2010 and has since been performing a variety of covers and originals around the metro.

Her talent for singing and songwriting has been recognized through various competitions, including the Miss Oklahoma Organization’s Talent Competition, Bo Dog Battle of the Bands, and Tulsa’s Got Talent.

Giving her own spin to an array of popular songs and her own favorites, Sonya has a versatile, unique style that can be enjoyed in any venue.

"We have an insert stage at the studio that we typically use for shooting video - I think this will be an intimate location for concerts," Stephens said.

Barrett will perform two sets during the evening, so guests will have plenty of time to explore the other businesses and events of Film Row.
