Auditions for Harrisburg’s newest web series indicates Bright future for “Shine”

The series is scheduled to begin shooting in the capital city in April 2014
 
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Feb. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Harrisburg’s newest web series Shine is slated to begin filming in April 2014. With auditions held over the past weekend, and actors interested from as far away as New York and Pittsburgh, Shine is already creating buzz.

Shine tells the story of a 20-something ‘has been’ who returns to Hollywood to open a PR agency of her own. In constant turmoil due to the relationship she has with her mother who is responsible for destroying a once rock-solid career, Shine settles in her new position, where she meets an eclectic group of artists along her life’s journey, each with his or her own quirks and shortcomings. With a solid support team which includes Shine’s older sister Starr; Starr’s boyfriend, Roberto; Shine’s new love interest, Chance; and her stepmother, Mona, the has-been begins to rebuild her life one day at a time.

Cast member are made up of the following Harrisburg actors: Gabriel Bellotti (Chance Edwards); Michael Giovanni (Roberto Santiago); Jasmin Hines (Starr Brown); Kiana Jenkins (Shine Remington-Reed); Chantel Motes (Chantel Reed); Rory Ogden (Rory, Extraordinary); Jeffrey Rensch (Zeke Solomon); Nicole Renee (Mona Brown); and Barry Tangert (“Manny” Ross). Actors Raj Belani (Dr. Patel) of New York; Brittany Boyd (La’Tasha Wells) of Pittsburgh; Lauren DeLeon (Valerie Pierson) of Philadelphia; and Sean James (Luke Miles) of Baltimore round out the featured roles.

Shine is the brainchild of lifelong Harrisburg resident J Blair Brown, publicist, and former radio talk show host of the radio programs “Livin’ the Dream! with JBlair Brown” and “JBlair Presents,” where she has interviewed artists the likes of Harry Lennix (NBC’s The Blacklist); Irma P. Hall (Soul Food); Chazz Palminteri (A Bronx Tale); Mykelti Williamson (Forrest Gump); Jose Zuniga (Twilight); Cocoa Brown (For Better or Worse); and many others.

The series is scheduled to film primarily in uptown Harrisburg as well as other noted sites around the city, such as Riverfront Park, and Souled Out Café, one of Harrisburg’s newest and most popular restaurants. Producers will submit the series to SAG-AFTRA under the new media agreement.
