By: Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. After 20 months as Vice President of Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. Amanda Pekarek has resigned her position of Vice President effective January 1, 2014 and will remain on the Board. Amanda has been a member of Wives Behind the Badge since 2009 and first appeared on the Board of Directors in 2010. She is married to a deputy sheriff in Northern California where they reside with their 3 children. She currently runs her own home based business and is thankful it allows her the time to dedicate to Wives Behind the Badge. Along with her duties as VP, Amanda is currently the HALOS Coordinator. Her passion for supporting law enforcement families shows in her dedication to the law enforcement community. Brooke Freeman, former Treasurer, has taken over as Vice President of Wives Behind the Badge. Brooke joined Wives Behind the Badge as Treasurer in March 2013 and also serves as the Central California Auxiliary Director. She is the proud wife of a deputy sheriff in Stanislaus County, CA – she is also employed for the county as an accountant. Brooke and her husband have two young boys and a Dutch shepherd. While Brooke offers a tremendous amount of professional savvy to WBTB, she also brings a heart of gold. Her initial search for support after being a part of two line of duty deaths within a small window of time brought her to Wives Behind the Badge. Her assistance in the planning of those funerals was what opened her heart to reaching out and helping other law enforcement families in need. Additionally the Board welcomes Rose Winick as the new Interim Treasurer. Our Board of Directors, Staff, and Auxiliary Directors are looking forward to the next chapter in our wonderful organization and thank all of our volunteers, donors, and sponsors.
