June 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Ms. Faulis is the daughter of a Lieutenant in Nevada. Ms. Faulis said being a daughter of a police officer has taught her honesty and integrity. She will graduate Faith Lutheran High School in June 2015 and plans on attending the University of California as part of their mathematics and applied science program with aspirations to attend medical school. “I see firsthand the commitment of my dad and other officers to helping the vulnerable, and I have decided to pursue a career in medicine where I can help people in need as well,” Madison shared.

Ms. Faulis is active in her local youth ministries as a vacation bible school leader, mission trip participant and a regular Sunday school teacher. When she is not spending time at her church, she is volunteering twice a week at the Candlelighter’s Childhood Cancer Foundation or tutoring math students. Her most valued experience to date is her participation in several Model United Nations debates. She has traveled to Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and New York City, to name a few conferences, and had the pleasure of speaking publically about world issues in settings that were created to parallel those of the United Nations.

Mr. Williams is the son of a Detective in Pennsylvania. Being the son of a detective has instilled in Mr. Williams the importance of right and wrong. “As I got older and the world started to become gray [but with my father’s morals as an officer] it became easier for me to decide what was right and wrong,” explained Kevin. Mr. Williams anticipates attending the University of Pittsburgh in as a biology major with future plans to contribute to biomedical research studies.

Mr. Williams has several extracurricular actives including honor society, volunteering at the local nursing home, and being a part of the highly respected STEMPrep program which is a 10-year program that sets to train young scientists of under-represented minorities for careers in health related sciences. A letter of recommendation submitted on his behalf spoke highly of Kevin’s dedication and commitment to his excellence in this program. However, Mr. Williams says he owes his focus and achievements to football. “Football has not only been my passion, it has also been my stress reliever. It has also contributed to my academic success, through my understanding of discipline and worth ethic,” shared Kevin.

Wives Behind the Badge wishes to extend the most sincere thanks to all of those who submitted applications and to the review committee for their countless hours of sorting through applications. We wish a lifetime of prosperity as all students embarking on their journey furthering their education to make an impact on the world. Thank you to Lieutenant Faulis and Detective Williams for your service and congratulations Ms. Faulis and Mr. Williams on your bright futures and much luck with all of your successes.
