LOS ANGELES - Dec. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Polly Pry was founded in 2005 by Kristen Foster and Anna Byars and is based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.   Kristen (ukulele) and Anna (lead guitar) are joined by Daniel Kirschner (double bass) and frequented by a rotating drummer from an all star roster.

Polly Pry’s summer tour of 2013 was deemed quite a success. Prior to their tour however, they released a full length studio CD titled “Two Warm Minutes” which was actually recorded back in 2008 and produced by Grammy award winning producer Fred Foster*, who is also Kristen’s dad.  It features Charlie McCoy (harmonica), Justin Hilbun (upright bass), Jenny Lynn Young (violin), Matt Reasor (electric guitar) and a cluster of other artist/musicians.

“Two Warm Minutes” contains a plethora of down-home country/folk tunes that grab at your heart strings.  They are noted for their ultra-melodic song writing style that covers the gamut of life, love and plenty of dark poignancy in between. The artistry of the creative process is masterful and delicious to witness.  One storyline becomes a melodic wonder, given life via a collection of instruments and vocal arrangements that leave you breathless.

Their single “Treat Me Bad” is an great indicator as to the masterful techniques used to create the entire 10 song CD.   The ukulele is a center focal point as the vocals and harmonies complete the full yet simplistic feel of the song. The entire CD contains unique, intricately written songs that, through sound and structure have developed what is known as some of the best organic melodies written to date.   Their vocals and harmonies are sharp and meld together like nothing in the music industry and the use of instruments such as ukulele, violin and standup bass, sets their music apart from any one else’s.  Their versatility opens up their sound to a vast audience without boundaries stretching far and wide and capturing the hearts of the young and the old alike.

Prior releases include “A Cocktail of Killer Bees” (2006 release) and “Live at Chelsea’s Café in Baton Rouge (2008 release).

Polly Pry will tour again in the summer of 2014 however no additional information is available at this time.

In Memoriam

“We wish to acknowledge the loss of our very best friend Justin Hilbun, who is on “Two Warm Minutes as a bass player and drummer, in a car accident in 2010.  More recently one of our substitute drummers, Dan Thompson passed away following a horrific incident.”
