College Hunks Hauling Junk Launches New Location in Houston, TX

College Hunks Hauling Junk and College Hunks Moving recently announced the grand opening of their newest franchise, located in Houston, TX.

The owners of the new franchise, Stephen and Patricia Desselle, bring a wealth of related experience to the College Hunks brand, as they formerly owned and operated a Mr. Handyman franchise, prior to which Mr. Desselle was a computer systems engineer with Hewlett Packard/Compaq.

Says Mr. Desselle, “We’re excited to bring top-notch junk removal and moving services to the area, but it’s about more than just the services we provide. We’re equally, if not more, excited to be hiring and training team members; teaching them about customer service, marketing and business strategies. We’re going to build our HUNKS -- Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable Students -- into future leaders. As a business owner, that’s probably the most rewarding aspect of entrepreneurship: empowering others.”

Added Mrs. Desselle, “We’re also looking forward to having a real impact on the city itself.  Systemwide, College Hunks Hauling Junk recycles or donates about 70% of everything we haul, which is a great thing. The more unwanted items we can keep out of the landfill, the more we all benefit, so we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to bring such an eco-friendly service to the Houston area.”

In addition to junk removal and moving, the new College Hunks franchise will also be offering local moving, packing and unpacking, hourly labor and several other services as well.

According to Mr. Desselle, “We really incorporate a lot of services that work well together. If a client is moving but has items that they don’t necessarily want to take with them, we can easily donate or recycle those items. At the end of the day, we don’t look at it as being in the junk removal industry or the moving industry. We’re in the customer service business with the goal of keeping our clients stress-free.”
