10-Year Navy Vet Opens New College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving Location in Boston South Area

NORWOOD, Mass. - Feb. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving has opened its newest franchise, located in Norwood and serving parts of Boston as well as Dedham, Sharon and other southern suburbs throughout Norfolk County.

The location is owned and operated by 10-year U.S. Navy Veteran Dan Tereshko, who made use of the VetFran initiative through which College Hunks offers a $5,000 discount to all qualified veterans who are interested in investing in a franchise of their own.

At least part of Tereshko’s decision to buy into the College Hunks brand stems from his own previous experiences in moving and how frustrating it can be for clients who wind up with a subpar mover.

According to Tereshko, “I moved eight times during my career, and I hired movers for six of them. All six times, I had something broken, stolen, lost, damaged or just plain ruined. Each and every time it cost me countless man-hours, filling out paperwork or being on the phone, attempting to recoup the value of the items. I identified with the College Hunks model because of the attention to detail, the customer service, and how the employees treat the clients’ belongings as if they were their own.”

The other deciding factor for Tereshko, a former Lieutenant Commander and Special Operations Officer, was the chance to put the skills he learned in the military to use as a civilian and entrepreneur.

Says Tereshko, “I’m very excited to be leading a team again. In particular, my main goal is to employ veterans who need a jumpstart on the road back to meaningful employment and purpose. I’m thrilled to finally have the honor of paying it forward and supporting my fellow veterans.”
