SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Oct. 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Volunteers from SESLOC Federal Credit Union recently donated their time to help construct three homes for local families, in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity of San Luis Obispo County.

The 28 SESLOC employees contributed a total of 224 work hours, which included clearing, cleaning, painting and drywalling the homes at the Rockview Place building site in San Luis Obispo.  Habitat for Humanity dedicated the homes on September 27 and the families are moving in.

Using volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit, non-government international organization, builds and rehabilitates homes to improve communities. Houses are sold to low-income families through affordable, no-interest mortgages.

According to Carla Swift, Assistant Vice President, Marketing at SESLOC, “This project is a good match for us since both Habitat for Humanity and SESLOC are committed to making a positive impact in our community.  We are very proud to have teamed up with them to help support local families.”

SESLOC is San Luis Obispo County’s longest established credit union. Founded in 1942 by county School Employees, SESLOC today has more than 40,000 members and serves all who live, work, worship or attend school in San Luis Obispo County.
