Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES, CA. – The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the nation’s largest not-for-profit organization supporting Hispanic-American higher education, announced today the release of its new web application at www.HSF.net. By taking its Web presence to the forefront of innovation, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund created a new and inviting application. “HSF 2.0” features richer content and improved navigation and functionality, throughout the Fund’s web domain.  It allows students, parents, and community partners to browse highly-focused information, segmented by their needs as audiences, rather than by topic.

“In addition to adding an array of new read-and-learn features to HSF’s “digital space,” geared to these audiences, we also built a highly interactive, user interface, which can be accessed via any mobile device.  Through this responsive design approach, the interface enables users to easily perform a number of transactions and activities on-line – from visitors making donations to students communicating with mentors, We have had an amazing team in place over the last several months to develop our new Web Application. I am happy to have officially launched this week and know that we have much more in store for upcoming releases that will make usability and access even better.” ” said Marcela Bailey, Hispanic Scholarship Fund’s Chief Information and Marketing Officer, who is leading the effort.

“The new user interface gives visitors up-to-date information on scholarships and events scheduled nation-wide.  In addition, a dynamic resource locator, we call  HSFinder, gives students the ability to easily locate and download selections from a library of current media and program materials. Now that we have this new beta tool up and running, we look forward to expanding the breadth and depth of the information it provides,” said HSF President & CEO Fidel Vargas.

HSF 2.0 also makes it easier for students to navigate and share information with friends and family, find and link to desired resources – on campus and off – and become familiar with the entire world of scholarships, in the process. For example, The HSF Press section features the latest announcements, organizational milestones and opinion pieces from the HSF community, and more. Further, the new website allows users to share blog posts and pages that interest them, with others across Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other popular social media avenues.

The launch of the second phase of the web application, which focuses on the core Scholarship Application System, will be released second quarter 2014. Its design is a result of talking with students, and alumni via focus groups and gaining valuable feedback on how to continue to improve service to both students and community.
