Follow on Google News | Sunny Skies, Populated Aisles and Automotive Excitement Carry Fall Carlisle 2013Collector Car Auction Via Auctions America Anchor Thursday and Friday Action
By: Carlisle Events While each aspect of the weekend draws a crowd, nothing does better for an event weekend than cooperation from Mother Nature. With sunny skies and temperatures pushing the mid 80s each day, crowds of enthusiasts flocked to Carlisle to do what they do best - buy, sell and trade all things automotive. Set-up day came and went without a glitch and when the gates opened on Thursday (10/3), Fall Carlisle was off and running. The race to the finish line of the event came too, but not before hundreds of cars sold within the car corral, hundreds more via the auction and countless amounts of merchandise moved as part of the swap meet. In addition to the shopping frenzy, collector cars were on display on and around the main stage at Carlisle. In preparation for the 2014 event season, Carlisle Events welcomed vehicles representative of each show on the slate, a Jeep Rubicon (Carlisle Truck Nationals), Scion tC (Carlisle Performance & Style), Pontiac GTO (Carlisle GM Nationals), Plymouth Roadrunner (Carlisle Chrysler Nationals), Corvette (Corvettes at Carlisle), Ford Torino (Bloomsburg Nationals), Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Carlisle Ford Nationals) and Lotus tC (Import & Kit Nationals). These display cars drew crowds all weekend and had guests excited about next season already. Speaking of cars that drew a crowd, Auctions America took center stage at the Carlisle Expo Center for their two-day showcase on Thursday and Friday of event weekend. Show goers gathered late in the afternoon and stayed late into the night with a bevy of collector cars crossing the block. As each moved from stage left to stage right, the energy continued to build within the complex. By auction’s end, $2,841,042.25 in cars sold, with a sell through rate of 62%. The top two selling vehicles were as follows: 1) 1957 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz Convertible - $181,500.00 2) 1957 Corvette Roadster - $104,500.00 Though Fall Carlisle has concluded, preparations are ongoing for Spring Carlisle. That event, April 23-27 once again showcases a swap meet, the car corral and collector car auction. Anyone interested in being part of the weekend should call 717-243-7855. End
