Rafael R. Ribeiro Elected to WLRN Community Advisory Board

MIAMI - Oct. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced that Rafael R. Ribeiro, a partner in the firm's Litigation Group, was elected to a three-year term on the WLRN Public Radio & Television Community Advisory Board (CAB).

As a CAB member, Mr. Ribeiro joins an independent and diverse group of listeners, viewers and supporters who work to ensure that WLRN continues to provide quality, responsive and independent non-commercial broadcasting to the South Florida community.

Mr. Ribeiro, who hosted a jazz show on college radio while at the New College of Florida, remains committed to enhancing public broadcasting today. "I believe that public radio plays a very important role in our community by showcasing local stories and highlighting local artists and entrepreneurs," said Mr. Ribeiro on his involvement with WLRN. "I wanted to be part of the effort to make sure that public funding for public radio continues."

Mr. Ribeiro is commercial litigation lawyer with extensive experience handling internal investigations, international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. He represents clients including major multi-national corporations such as Bacardi, Carnival and Ryder. Mr. Ribeiro is also a regular contributor to Bilzin Sumberg's New Miami Blog (www.newmiamiblog.com), a blog about Miami's emergence as a global gateway city.

Bilzin Sumberg’s Litigation Group Co-Chair, Michael N. Kreitzer, is also involved with WLRN as Chair of the Friends of WLRN Board of Directors, the non-profit organization that raises funds for the public radio and television station.
