BCBSNC Opens its Doors in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Oct. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Retail Hub to Serve As Community Health Care Reform Resource

What: The grand opening celebration of Asheville’s local Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) insurance store.

Where: 1854 Henderson Road, Suite C, Asheville, N.C.

When: Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Background: BCBSNC is opening a new retail location in Asheville as part of the company’s Ready, Set, Go! campaign to help consumers understand health care reform. The Asheville location is the fifth in the state. Throughout North Carolina, BCBSNC is opening seven retail stores as a new resource for navigating health insurance and health care reform. These sites present an opportunity for area residents to learn more about health insurance and health care reform from local industry specialists. BCBSNC expects to open all stores statewide by the end of October.

This grand opening event is open to the public. The BCBSNC mobile unit will be onsite to educate residents about healthy lifestyles and health care reform through interactive games and activities. Representatives from FastMed Urgent Care will provide onsite health screenings. The YMCA of Western North Carolina will provide information regarding their programs. In addition, attendees can meet the Charlotte Bobcats Lady Cats and team mascot Rufus Lynx and enter for their chance to win tickets to Bobcats pre-season game.
